Skin on skin
yet not close enough
Breathing you in
desperately
until you vanish
like mist
on forgotten valleys
where birds preach about
what-ifs and used-to-be’s,
where the crescent moon
reminds me of
how your hands loved me
before the dawn,
where a ghost choir
serenades
overplayed love songs,
where loneliness
embraces me
poetically

Thank you, Deborah! I recycled the lines from an old poem I’ve never posted here. I think the original went like this: “yet I am not alone, loneliness embraces me, poetically”. Glad you liked it.

Greetings Noora,
So wonderful to be back in your poetic palace! That poem was mesmerizing, like passing perfume wafting from a woman who turns the head with an unassuming glance.
So elated you’re back. Let me tell you, I understand the plethora of directions Life can take you! However, she always remember to lead you home to what matters. 🙂
Bienvenidos!!
