Skin on skin
yet not close enough
Breathing you in
until you vanish
like mist
on forgotten valleys
where birds preach about
what-ifs and used-to-be’s,
where the crescent moon
reminds me of
how your hands loved me
before the dawn,
where a ghost choir
overplayed love songs,
where loneliness
embraces me

    1. Thank you, Deborah! I recycled the lines from an old poem I’ve never posted here. I think the original went like this: β€œyet I am not alone, loneliness embraces me, poetically”. Glad you liked it.

    1. I’m doing okish, no poetry on the cards for the moment , I’ve lost inspiration now my muse is no longer here to inspire me. Hopefully it will return soon.

  1. I tried commenting on this from my phone earlier and it looks like the comment never went through. :/

This poem (like all of your poems) is simply stunning. I love the way you weave your words. You’re talented! πŸ™‚

  2. Greetings Noora,

So wonderful to be back in your poetic palace! That poem was mesmerizing, like passing perfume wafting from a woman who turns the head with an unassuming glance.

So elated you’re back. Let me tell you, I understand the plethora of directions Life can take you! However, she always remember to lead you home to what matters. πŸ™‚
